The Role
I have really enjoyed my year industry at Jaguar Land Rover, I've had the channce to get involved in some really interesting projects and have even been able to drive the majority of vehicles that JLR produce including the F-type and a number of development prototypes. I'm now applying for the Graduate Scheme at JLR.
Was welcomed into the team and treated like everyone else there, received recognition for the work I have put in to the placement.
Was assigned a personal supervisor and had regular one to one meetings, I've recieved all the support and training I've required.
I've had to cope with lots of different tasks but fortunately I enjoy being busy. The work was interesting and varied but the team made sure I could cope with my workload and didn't overload me.
Was trusted and responsible for certain pieces of work which were taken to senior level, was expected to produce high quality work in short timeframes such as 24 hour turnarounds.
The skills I've learnt and developed will come in useful for the final year of my degree as well as for my future career. I have improved massively since the start of my placement.
The Company
The office had a good atmosphere and I got on well with everyone, team socials were organised on a fairly regular basis to help everyone integrate.
The placement at JLR was well organised with a useful induction day at the start of the placement
The business has invested in me, I've been able to go on week long training courses and have also recieved driver training to be able to carry out vehicle testing. My team has also helped me prepare for my Graduate assessment.
Subsidised Canteen

Have an assessment centre for a graduate role in my department in the near future with a good chance of success.
The Culture
Myself and some of the other placement students managed to organise some houses together so there has been a good social scene as I''m been living with most of them for the year. Overall there are about 20 students on placement so lots of social opportunities. My team also have regular team socials which are a good chance to socialise with people outside of work.
Paid enough so that I could enjoy living and socialising, the area isn't too expensive as it is also a student area.
Average, nothing spectacular
Lots of sports clubs and other socialiable activities available in the local area
