About You
The First Year Workshop gave me a good idea of what it was like to work at Herbert Smith Freehills.
The trainee that I shadowed was very warm and friendly, and the lawyers that I met were supportive.
There was sufficient guidance provided for the tasks that we were assigned, and the lawyers were very approachable if we had any queries.
The work shadowing experience taught me how law can be applied to real-life situations.
The Company
There was a wide variety of activities covered, from corporate and dispute resolution workshops to the work shadowing experience.
The First Year Workshop was very well-conducted and had many interactive components.
The trainee took the time to teach me many valuable skills in spite of her heavy workload.
I had a better understanding of the type of deals that the firm does after the workshop.
The workshop enabled me to understand how the lawyers in the firm interact with each other, and with their clients.
Everything Else
The firm will reimburse transport expenses.
There was a networking event on the first evening of the workshop at the National Portrait Gallery, where we got to talk to the lawyers.
The networking opportunities were plentiful, and there was a drinks reception at Brasserie Blanc after the National Portrait Gallery tour, which gave us even more time to interact with the lawyers and understand more about the firm.
This was covered during one of the presentations.
Yes, this is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the firm.
