The Role
I had an amazing and insightful year, giving me real work experience a wealth of skills that will boost my CV. There were times that were hard for various reasons, such as work load and hours, but overall I loved it.
When I first joined, due to my lack of confidence and experience, I felt a little undervalued and like my opinion wasn't worthy. My managers and colleagues encouraged me to grow my confidence and I finished my placement feeling like a valued and responsible member of the team.
My manager is highly supportive when he is available, but sometimes he is incredibly busy and I feel like my issues are too trivial to take to him. This is rare as he's very approachable. The mentoring system didn't work for me. My mentor was not supportive and I found I didn't need her. Bit of a shame really as it would have been useful to have some guidance away from my manager.
I thrive in a very fast paced and busy environment. There have definitely been times when I have aged prematurely as I've been managing two job roles in the last weeks, but I've loved it. I have so much experience now and I'm never bored.
I managed photography and the media site, as well as being asked to attend events and represent the company. I've felt like a really integral part of the team.
I feel totally prepared to go back and finish my studies. I had lost my drive to work and being at Vauxhall has given back my determination to gain a really high class degree. I've grown up a lot, improved my communication skills and am ready to tackle the last year of uni to the best of my ability.
The Company
Everyone is really supportive, even if they are sometimes stressed and heavily involved in their work. I love the team I work in.
The placement scheme was run very well. There were loads of inductions and meetings to help settle us in and the handover period was really well planned.
A lot. I have been given so much responsibility and have attended multiple seminars and events to help improve my skills.

I love the company, but the location is really poor. It would probably stop me working here again.
The Culture
It's ok - but the nightlife in Luton is really bad. I tend to go further afield when I go out.
Cost of living is £360 ppcm incl bills for my huuuuuugggggeee house. It was pretty cheap and it's cheap to live here.
Tragic. Luton is really bad. London is close and harpenden is nice though.
Not really. There wasn't much organised other than handover. However, this hasn't bothered me. I like to organise my own time.
