The Role
Great opportunity to get some valuable experience in a manufacturing environment.
Welcoming environment with plenty of opportunities to mix with work colleagues inside and out of work.
Support and guidance was always there when I needed it whether it be from my line manager or mentor.
I had daily tasks which required me update presentation boards for morning meetings, however it was very much up to myself to be proactive and actively seek work outside of my allocated projects.
I was given opportunities to hold meetings with contractors, run morning meetings and generally be an integral part of the team.
This experience is vital for any job in an engineering field whether it be design or manufacturing. The skills developed on placement are totally different to those gained at university which is important when trying to become a successful engineer.
The Company
I can't stress enough how good an environment it was to work in. Everyone is up for a laugh and there is always friendly banter.
Very well organised, lots of social events and various different training courses throughout the year.
Excel training, safe driver training and opportunities to attend conferences in London that were related to my job role.

The Culture
Always nights out to London, St Albans and Harpenden. Luton isn’t so great for nights out but there are plenty of nice places nearby.
pretty cheap average rent between £250 and £300 a month
Luton isn't great but with so many placement students any night out usually ends up being a good one.
There are local football teams but outside of that it’s very much up to yourself. However, with London being close and trains running regularly there’s always something to do.
