The Role
The job was absolutely fantastic and I have met so many wonderful people who have treated me as part of their team and been very happy to help me and guide me through the process. I have also been given a lot of responsibility and have carried the project on my own so the results and outputs are all my work.
I've developed really good working relationships and friendships with a lot of people in my team and wider working area. I get on really well with all of my colleagues and have been taken into the group as if i was a permanent member of staff.
Not only my line manager, but everyone in my team and wider HR function was overly helpful towards me and offered me great support and guidance throughout.
I was stretched at some points and had to work late or come in early a few times, but it was enjoyable work so i didnt mind at all. I did feel that in the last couple of weeks, the deadlines were getting closer and i was very pushed for time, but i had to prioritise the urgent work and so some meetings got cancelled.
I was literally given an entire project to manage and run. I was responsible for the analysis of results, the presentation of results and the action planning. I also suggested further things that could be done to get more from the results and so I was kept very busy!
This will not necessarily help my degree, but it will help me with time manmagement and proiritisation of work throughout my final year at uni. the people skills and project management skills will definitely help me in my future career, as well as all of the presentation skills that I have developed.
The Company
Really hard working, but a fun environment too. I was involved in the office banter and the team really valued my input into discussion.
everything from a Barclaycard perspective was well organised and the GRB events were well timed and organised efficiently. The only thing that lacked proper organisation was the grad scheme talk and the grad scheme programme roll out in general as the timing was too late.
I went on the barclaycard global induction and i also did a lot of online training as well as visiting Northampton on a few occassions to meet colleagues. all of my PD objectives were met and beacuse i had asked to improve presentation skills, they gave me lots of presentations to do so that was great!

The new grad scheme looks fantastic (shame about the communication of it to us). It is definitely suited to my needs and I hope that I am successful at the assessment centre.
The Culture
Great - we bonded really well as a group and became like family by the end. Had lunch together every day and went out a lot after work. I will definitely stay in contact with many of them
Canary wharf is very expensive, as is London. Travel and eating were very expensive!
REally good atmosphere and bars/restaurants, but very expensive.
There were quite a few opportunities to do intern events - dragon boat racing, drinks etc
