About You
I attended the Leadership Academy and it was a great experience, loads of lovely, like-minded people, and a great way to learn things about yourself that no one else is going to teach you.
The whole experience was completely worthwhile, and I was hired shortly after the academy.
The facilitators were really helpful, but were also completely happy to get involved and be our peers.
The leadership skills I learnt can be applied anywhere and everywhere, and I will definitely be using them in future.
The Company
Very well structured and organised throughout.
The atmosphere was great, all the facilitators were friendly and up for a laugh, and everyone else there got completely involved. I'm still in touch with most of the people from the Leadership Academy.
It was all about us, the only time they tried to sell EY to us was on the last day at our leaving drinks, when they showed us what opportunities we now had. Other than that, it was completely focused on our development.
It doesn't quite replicate a day in the office, but you can get a feel for the company's ethos and the kind of people that work there/they want to hire.
The fact that they invested so much in is with no obligation whatsoever gave a good idea of how far they are willing to go to secure the best candidates.
Everything Else
Travel, accommodation and food were all covered.
We had a partner dinner and had the opportunity to talk to several partners from different sectors within the firm.
There were drinks after dinner each night when you could talk to the facilitators and younger graduates and discuss opportunities and what it would be like to work at the firm.
Through conversations with the facilitators we could find out pretty easily that they had a huge range of opportunities outside of work.
Yes, it was incredibly valuable.
