    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My job has taught me a lot of new skills but I haven't had much responsibility nor support from management.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They do look down on me, which I don't like. Sometimes I feel a valued member of the team but not always.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management were hardly around to support me. I was often left alone to do work which I didn't understand and hardly had support.

    2/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Despite asking for more 'interesting' work, I was given admin duties and felt like I was their tea/coffee boy too.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I guess they could trust me to work on my own but my work was checked by management before it went anywhere. I didn't technically get to manage anything myself.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've learnt a lot of skills but wish that I'd learnt more - particularly since some of the stuff isn't relevant to my degree!

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • My office was quite boring. Most people didn't talk to one another although I had a few good nights out with other colleagues from other departments.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was setup extremely well - that I have to give them. No problems from getting the placement to arriving.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was allowed to complete lots of online courses but these were often tedious to do. I was told I couldn't go to any external fairs/events, etc. The department budget didn't allow for it.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I wouldn't go back to the same department but would love a job elsewhere in the organisation (or at a different site).

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I had a great time with other students in the local clubs and a few days out.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Very expensive, I rented on my own and regret it as it was boring too.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Extreme amounts to do here. It was great to be able to walk out the flat and straight into a busy area.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Apart from going out with other students, I didn't feel that enough activities were organised. I didn't hear of any teams.

    4/5
