About You
Great People, and they put on amazing events for us. Second week was slightly less enjoyable, but that was only because I was put in a department I found less interesting.
They really made an effort to make us feel at home.
The HR team always made it clear that no question was too obvious and the network of supervisors, Trainee buddies and Partner mentors provided ample opportunity to ask anything.
My degree has nothing to do with law, but the Vacation Scheme is a fantastic thing to have on your CV.
The Company
Very well structured, maybe just slightly more guidance should be given to supervisors and I sometimes felt the work I was given was simply to fill time rather than because it was useful for me or them.
Obviously it's hard work, but the evening events were great.
Lots of time and money spent getting to know us, and plenty of time dedicated to making sure we were feeling at home.
A full time job would be longer hours and fewer events.
You need to spend time in a firm to get to know it, and HSF really went out of their way to make sure you got a positive impression of them.
Everything Else
I was paid £350 per week.
Tons of talks and events for us to go to which were almost always attended by plenty of employees.
Enough so we were having fun, but not too many that we were exhausted. They sent us off on the first night to a restaurant, unaccompanied by any HSF employees just so we could get to know each other which was a great idea.
Lots of Pro Bono stuff, sports teams, and societies.
Absolutely, was great fun and gave me a real insight into a career in commercial law.
