The Role
A great company to work for, which provides challenging working environment. Being able to get involved in extra activities such as charity events and other projects has enabled me to developed extra skills
I felt valued as part of the immediate team, although was somewhat felt as though my opinion mattered less outside of this.
The team was very supportive where needed for the job role, and monthly performance reviews and one-to-ones were held with my manager to review progress, concerns and successes.
Being a customer facing role, it is quite varied with workload - although there is always something to do. Month, quarter and financial year ends significantly busier and sometimes additional tasks completed outside of working hours .
The role is quite individually responsible for the work completed for a placement student. However the team and manager are there to support when necessary.
I feel that the courses and training available on the scheme have provided me skills for the future that I would not have gained otherwise such as going through the Lean Accreditation scheme and the CSR project, as well as understanding how the company works on a global scale. I do however feel the that skills used in the day to day role were largely already competent in and others would not be used beyond the role.
The Company
The office environment is quite quiet compared to other areas of the business, atmospheres is ok.
I feel the placement scheme is structured well and the placement events across the year are run very well, useful, and are always fully organised.
The company invested quite well in the on-board training during the start of the placement, and had the flexibility to attend some additional training events. The pl
Financial Bonus
Fujitsu is keen to try to employ placement students onto the Graduate scheme and offer a skills workshop to increase your chances of being successful.
The Culture
There is a good social scene in Reading for the IP's and lots of other companies also. Living in Bracknell meant it was a little more difficult.
Living in Bracknell was more expensive than the majority of placement students who lived in Reading - which is fairly cheap due to being a student town
Reading is a great night out as a student town and fairly cheap.
Yes there are extra activities such as cricket team, IP football team etc.
