    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It lived up to my expectations. I found myself enjoying it more and more as the internship progressed. Wish it was longer.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt really valued, they talked to me quite a lot at the start of the internship to get to know me and were really friendly when I was just starting.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • They told me exactly what they wanted from me at the start. I had regular meetings with my manager to check my progress and ask for help if I needed it. If there was anything that I was struggling with he took the time to help me through it.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy but I liked it. Always having something to do made sure that the time I had wasn't wasted. Occasionally there was a bit too much but nothing that I couldn't get through.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot. I felt a little bit overwhelmed at the start because I thought I might not be able to do it but my manager was so helpful and showed me that I could.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned to communicate better in a team, manage my time better and work better overall. I feel like a more effective worker now.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Not bad. It was quiet just like any other office that I've been to so that people can work. Not much more to say to be honest.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Thought that it was set up well. I was given information before the start of the internship in plenty time so that I could prepare and during the internship it felt well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested quite a lot I think into all of the interns. They spent a lot of time training us so that we could do our jobs effectively and they expect us to come back if they offer us a graduate job.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Secured a graduate job.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yep, the other interns at the company were really friendly and I made some good friends during the internship. We went out sometimes to get a drink in the nearby pubs.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was ok. Didn't really expect it to be cheap and it wasn't. On the whole it was manageable though.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was so good. Had lots of fun at the nearby clubs, though only had time to visit a few of them.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • They set up some events for the interns which were pretty good fun and a good way of getting to know people. They encouraged us to socialise outside of work too, which we did.

    4/5
