The Role
I felt engaged and stimulated from day one.
I was struck by how much time everyone had for me. I felt valued to a greater extent than I have done during other placements I have undertaken.
We were given clear and helpful instructions as well as suggestions as to how we might best ensure that the experience was as beneficial as possible.
I was kept busy with meaningful tasks. There was the odd period of initial idleness, but work was readily available if a bit of initiative was shown (by asking for work, for example).
The work I carried out was, although occasionally quite "unglamorous", ultimately of importance to the firm. The bundle preparation and legal research I performed was relied upon by fee earners. I really enjoyed the feeling of reward that this gave me.
The Company
The people at Pinsent Masons are busy people, but they have always have time for each other. It is immediately clear from simply observing people's interaction that close friendships have formed between the colleagues.
The organisation of the vacation placement scheme was a huge task which appeared to run very smoothly with only very minor hitches along the way.
