The Role
Excellent team, and the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments
The team were welcoming from day one, and after the first week I forgot I was even an intern
Worked on live deals from day one so a steep learning curve and very much a case of learn on the job. Targets for the year were set and I was given every opportunity to meet them.
The work fluctuates depending on the number of deals. Worked a lot longer than most other departments but the compensation and deal experience exceeded other departments.
Working on live deals from day one, meeting and advising clients who assumed I was a post MBA employee. Over the course of the year gained enough skills to complete the work of a qualified executive, the more work you put in the more you get actively involved.
Whilst not directly applicable to my degree, the was a massive investment in a variety of technical courses including modelling, debt funding and private equity transactions.
The Company
Standard office atmosphere, mostly quiet as there is work to be doing!
Very well organised, the recruitment team maintain contact through the year and run a number of nationwide networking events with other placement students.
As mentioned there is a huge investment in the training of placement students both technically and in developing core competencies
