The Role
I liked it but some of the technologies that I was using I didn't. Nevertheless, I still had a good time learning and I enjoyed working with my team.
They were the best. They made me feel super comfortable when I got in on the first day and that continued right up until the last. I would love to work with them again.
My manager was superb, there wasn't a problem that was too big for him and I never felt at any point that the questions that I was asking were stupid.
I was asked to use some technologies that I didn't really like and I wasn't really comfortable using them, and because of this it took me a little longer to do the things that I was tasked with. The amount of work that I was given built up over time but I managed to get through it in the end.
The applications that I was developing were core the the function of the company which I felt was a huge responsibility. I didn't really feel ready for such a big responsibility but my manager was there to give me guidance if I needed it.
Over the course of the internship I learned to use some completely new technologies and also built my confidence up a lot. These are just two of the things I learned, I also improved my soft skills and I feel like I'm in a much better position when I come back next summer.
The Company
It was just a typical office environment. Coffee everywhere, lots of computers. I found the kitchen to be quite pleasant though, I made a few trips there!
Can't fault the organisation of the whole thing. All the information about the internship that I needed was provided in plenty of time. The only thing that I didn't like was how little choice I had over what I was working with but I guess it's the business that's important and not my personal preferences.
My manager talked to me everyday to make sure that I had the skills to do a good job. If I felt that I was lacking knowledge in some technology he made sure that I had the resources I needed to succeed.

They offered me a job!
The Culture
The social scene was good. I'm quite a quiet person but I felt that it was really easy to talk to the other interns because they were so friendly.
You need deep pockets to stay in London! Although I never felt like I needed to keep an eye on my budget, things here are a little bit expensive for my liking.
It's a party central here. I found myself going to so many clubs that I lost count, it's something that I felt never got old!
I went on some events that the company set up for the interns. It was a nice way to relax after a hard day of work.
