  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Nearly everyday. As an intern, you WILL ALWAYS do things wrong. This is GOOD. You learn from your mistakes as the internship is all about making mistakes and seeing how you bounce back from them. I had weekly meetings with my manager every week and he gave me advice numerously. He guided me through everything whether it be writing e-mails, creating presentations, leading calls or any personal issues .

    5/5

  • Very busy. I had things to do daily. It was only the first month where I was not busy, but as times go by, you get very busy as people become dependent on you for work on particular projects.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good social scene. In the GE business I was in, there were 9 GE interns. As GE is so vast, there were 40 IT interns based all around the UK. They were around 200+ GE interns in the UK. The social scene was okay, could be better co-ordinated.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I commuted from my house so I did not have to rent a house near the area I worked in. The Hounslow high street has most of the popular shops (Tesco, Iceland, Mc Donalds, KFC, Subway, Starbucks, Costa etc.)
