    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I wasn't sure if I was going to like working in an office all day but it turned out to be pretty enjoyable and I thought it was a really worthwhile experience. I would definitely recommend it.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues valued my work and were always willing to discuss it with me. They treated me fairly and it was a joy to work with them.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support and guidance. When I didn't understand something, I felt free to approach my manager and my colleagues for help. They were always there to help and this made learning much easier.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was sometimes busy and sometimes not. It depends on how much work comes through and sometimes there wasn't anything much I could help with. It did improve as the internship went on though.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility. I actually got to talk to real clients and the fact that they allowed me to do this shows that they trust me. I was a bit apprehensive at first but it turned out well.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned a lot and strengthened a lot of my existing skills. I feel these skills will be of great help to me in future life, especially since I want to work in this area after I graduate.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It wasn't too serious, and it felt relaxed. I think the atmosphere allowed me to work well, but it wasn't so serious that I felt restrained.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was very well organised. All of my colleagues were aware of me coming in and were able to prepare. The interns were given an induction as well which was really helpful.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The induction at the start was a great start to the training that the company provides. My manager gave me a lot of feedback which allowed me to develop myself personally. I could easily ask about areas I could improve in, for example.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I got offered a graduate job! I've accepted it and I'm looking forward to coming back.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene was pretty good. I met up with the other interns quite often, when I could, for lunch. We also went out on some social events which were good to get to know everyone.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I thought it was ok, although it was more expensive than what I was used to.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife was very good. There is a lot of selection of bars, nightclubs etc. and I had fun when I went out with some of the interns after a long week.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A few events were organised for primarily networking purposes where we got to speak to people in the business and ask questions we had. Other socials were also set up for the interns so that we could get to know each other. The events which were on after work were great fun and I think all the interns got to know everyone pretty well through these events.
