The Role
Very enjoyable, the work environment was happy and I was continuously learning.
As time progressed I felt accepted into the 'family' they are colleges on a work bases but friends in general.
A detailed two week training session is given by the previous students to take you through the whole process of development and gives you time to ask all the basic questions. Support is continuous throughout the year, as you gain confidence the support is reduced.
There is always things to be completed or meetings to attend. Timelines are realistic and if problems are encounter in the project deadlines are extended to allow for the delays.
My ideas and contributions to the team were valued and ownership of them was encouraged to carry them through the project process and to see their outcome.
It has development my time management greatly and to be able to priorities tasks at hand.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed as long as the work got done. The bonus was cake Friday which was always a nice treat at the end of the week.
The placement was aligned with one main project and developed at the rate the project grew as well.
There were some formal training sessions with all the placement students and graduates to widen our knowledge of the company and develop personal skills.

The larger 3M company has been promoted so even if the division the placement has been carried out in is not hiring there are wider opportunities available.
The Culture
As there were IP students as well as graduates on site we would arrange social's out to the cinema, bowling, meals etc.
Rent is a lot cheaper compared to living in a city and the cost of socialising was average.
There was one local night club which was great fun and there is many other options in surrounding areas too.
If you were proactive and looked for.
