The Role
The placement has been a testing 48 week programme that viewed all different areas of the business. The beauty of this is the ever changing environment you are faced with, responsibilities and tasks grow throughout resulting in an exceptionally beneficial and enjoyable experience.
Despite being a potentially young and inexperienced member of a variety of teams you are made to feel valued and welcome at all times. All staff members are more than happy to answer any questions and provide help and support throughout.
Updates are scheduled throughout, this is an opportunity to present everything you have learned during that period to your supervisor as well as a chance to ask any questions or discuss potential issues you may have. Support and guidance is provided througout which is really shown through the develpment you will undoubtably show.
It is made clear from the very first interview that throughout the placement you will be busy. They wernt wrong, the level of work and responsibility provided is exceptional. If your after a placement where you will be doing very little, 30 hours a week then this may not be for you.
The answer to this question is basically as much as you want . The potential to take on responsibiltiy is vast, providing you have demonstarted the ability to deal with it. All help, support and guidance is put in place to ensure that you take on more responsibility than you could ever imagine.
Personal Development is a key priority for Aldi, not only are their placement students contributing to the business but they are also keen to ensure that you develop yourselves. This is a key topic through updates and ensures that you finish you placement as a different person to when you started. It also provides a first hand insight into some of the business practices of one of the UK's most rapidly growing business. These are all skills and knowldge that can be applied to degree study and beyond.
The Company
A clear sturcture of your 48 week time with Aldi is provided during an induction day prior to the placement start date. Clear training expectations are made clear and the placement ran seamlessly, as with any business, changes do occur, this is made clear and demostrates the ever changing needs of the company.
As I have already mentioned Aldi is focused on ensuring that the 48 week placement trains and develops you to the best possible level; as well as identifying key areas going forward to ensure that this development doesnt finish at the end of your placement time.
