    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Frankly, could not ask more from a placement as a student. I was provided a 2-month-long, quality training and kept learning all year. I was given responsibilities and provided enough room to develop in areas I was interested the most. I developed both technical and business skills, and now feel very confident about my future career.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was never treated differently to any other graduates and even to colleagues with years of experience in the company. Even when moving departments on my rotation I kept feeling like I was a part of a big family.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Personally, I found support to be always at hand when needed, be it technical or just a general advice.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The work-load can get tough sometimes, but when it does get difficult you are not left alone: colleagues and management are always ready to listen and help.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As an intern I found the amount of responsibility provided to be extraordinary. Unlike other placements, here you do actually work on real-world problems with real customers to actual deadlines.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Again, hard to think of a better suited, so well-rounded 1-year placement.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Open spaces, people are very sociable and friendly. Everyone wears casual (except special occasions).

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Well organised, have no specific complaints.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The fact that you start with getting two full months of continuous training says it all.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Definitely!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It can get quite costly from what I found and finding a place can also get difficult. Socialising with colleagues, however, happened constantly.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There is SOME nightlife but you have to consider the fact that it's a small town and there are no universities around.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Crafty-craft and many others. Good fun!
