The Role
My work placement has been really enjoyable, from the people I am working with to the work that I am doing and it has made be believe I am taking the right career path.
I have felt valued by all my colleagues which has been proven to me by the faith they have given me in order to complete work tasks unsupervised.
All my colleagues have been very helpful, helping me to settle in and giving me advice on work related matters.
The work balance has been fine. Somedays I have had to long days in order to get the work done within a time frame, but I have always had work to do.
I was suprised at how much responsibility I was given on my placement year, and this responsibility has given me a new aspect on a way to work.
I have learnt alot from my year placement, whether it be learning new skills or developing ones which I already had. These skills will definitely improve my chances of getting a higher grade in my degree compared to if I hadn't done a placement year.
The Company
The office had a good atmosphere. It made it an easy place to work and made me happy when travelling to work every morning.
The placement had a really good set up from the induction to helping me out with my future university workload.
The company invested in a couple of things to help me in the future mainly towards my CSCS card and RICS fees.
Company Car
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare from home
Future empleyment prospects look good and I would be happy to come back after my graduation from University.
The Culture
There was a number of nights out, and we tended to go for a pub lunch most Fridays.
Lunchtimes were mostly quite expensive.
None exisitent....I worked on a business park.
There were numerous opportunities to carry out activities outside of work time, mainly CPD events which helped me to improve my CPD time.
