The Role
I found the internship to be very enjoyable. The whole experience was something that I would love to repeat again and again. I actually really loved coming into the office everyday.
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. They were all extremely friendly and frequently offered me advice and tips on how to do things a little bit better. It wasn't all work though, we also kept contact outside of the office and on the whole maintained a very good relationship.
My manager would give me feedback on the work I was doing every day. This kind of feedback really helped me to improve and gave me the opportunity to ask any questions that I wished. It was extremely helpful to have an experienced employee guide me every step of the way.
I was busy on most days but it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. I felt very much on top of all of the work that I was given and all of the work that I was doing felt important to the team which was good.
It started quite slow at the beginning (for the first week or so) and then things slowly began to pick up pace. This was understandable as I was new and nobody knew how I would perform in the workplace but as my manager's confidence increased, I was given more and more responsibility.
Definitely skills for life! Things like working in a team and being able to deliver a presentation in front of hundreds of people only improve with practice and I definitely feel that i was given a lot of practice with these skills.
The Company
I liked office atmosphere very much. It wasn't really that formal and people could freely move from desk to desk to talk to team members - I was surprised at this as I was expected a much more formal office setting.
Before the internship started I was given quite a lot of information on how the internship would work. From details about the first day to information about the role that I was expected to fulfill. All of this information was given with plenty of time in advance and on the whole felt very organised. There was a little confusion the start of the internship when my account on the computer wasn't set up properly but this was quickly fixed.
They gave me a lot of opportunities to take on further training if I needed it. This was in the form of online resources and also some books that they recommended me to read. If I wanted to consolidate this learning there were online tests that I could take to check that I understood everything correctly. Having access to all of these resources was really useful as sometimes there was something I was unsure about and I could easily look it up.

Company Parties/Events
I was offered a graduate job with them!
The Culture
I got along very well with all of the other students at the company. I was invited quite a few times to go and get drinks to get to know everyone better and I definitely did. I'm still in contact with a lot of the people I met at the company today.
It was really quite expensive. I found a few times I didn't order another drink because it was a bit too much for my liking. I think I'll get used to these costs in the future but not just yet.
I didn't go out as often as I wanted to because it was just that expensive. But that didn't stop me from having very good fun in the clubs that I did go to.
There were a few events that all of the interns could go to. I admit that I only went to a few of them but there were events almost every week and I regret a little that I didn't take the opportunity when I had it.
