The Role
While the company itself is good to work for the moral within Water and Environment is woefully lacking, this is down to what many see as poor pay for the amount of work they do. The staff are very friendly however, and the work can be varied and interesting.
All staff are very friendly and made an effort to make me feel like i was part of the team
Again very good support when it came to learning about their software, however managment could at times be stretched to thin leaving you with no guidence and therefore unable to progress your work
Either no work or far to much. Not managed well. This could be down to managment being overworked and not having time to delgate work due to them being to busy to get their own work done
took responsibility for modelling teams in Bangalore and CAD teams in a remote office
Management imporved ten fold as did my own ability to work independently, however my engineer skills did not increase as a large part of engineering is now all computer modelled
The Company
Moral was very low and most staff do not feel valued or listened to by management, saying this many of them never spoke up about it. I found i was listened to and enjoyed a good relationship with management. In my year here I have seen 100 people made redundant due to their offices not turning a profit (fair enough really) and 3 people leave for greener pastures.
most of the time good sometime to hit and miss.
Not a whole lot.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Only if I get into the management scheme. No chance as an engineer.
The Culture
Only met 3 others and they were dull and did nothing
Lived in bath. So very pricy, nearly as bad as some areas in London.
Bristol nice and cheap and bath very expensive so have to find the best oppertunity.
Yeah, just couldn't afford them
