The Role
I absolutely loved working here!
Everyone is warm and welcoming and friendly, and yes you do start to feel part of the NI family pretty quickly
I was fortunate to have a great team leader who supported me at every step and motivated me from day one on the job! He guided me and made sure I was always happy in the workplace!
There was a perfect balance for me, I never had more than I could handle but also had something to do at all times. Maybe this has more to do with the fact that I loved what I was doing so it never felt like a burden of any sort.
Despite being an intern I got to put my leadership and team management skills to the test. I got to manage an entire project team for our department wide projects. In the team we had some graduate, experienced employees and I got the chance to learn from their individual management styles. I was also given the chance to head one of the biggest charity events that the company takes part in (Crafty Craft) and I learnt a great amount on the job! So I think I can safely say that as interns you will get equal opportunities to take on responsibilities in this company and will have loads to learn while at it!
This is a company full of talented, intelligent and skillful people who are willing to teach all that they have learned over the years themselves. Knowledge and skills are being distributed free of cost in every corner at NI and it is easy for one to bank on what is on offer. The skills I have gained here will last me a long time. I have learnt a tremendous amount by even just interacting with some of the experienced employees here and learning from their experiences that they often share with us.
The Company
Everyone in the office is fun and energetic at all times. Everyone seems to love their job and this reflects a great amount in their attitude and how they interact with one and another. Most people in the office are always up for something fun and happy to hang out with interns.
The placement co-coordinator has done a great job at integrating all of us interns in the company well. The placement was designed to benefit the interns most, there were several training events organised. There was help and support available in every aspect at all times.
Huge amounts of training was given to us! Whether it was technical skill or soft skill development we received the best of it all.

The Culture
There was a great social scene! We went out a lot. I thoroughly enjoyed all the night outs and diners we went on! I celebrated my 21st birthday while on placement here and it was amazing how memorable, people I had just met managed to make it! Some of us interns also went on a weekend trip to Sweden which was fabulous!
It was a little higher than normal student cities but still affordable!
Not the best to be honest but the people made it great!
Yes, Newbury has a lot going on if you look out for things and it is easy to get along with most people! I managed to get involved with several activities outside of work and also managed to make several friends that work for other companies in Newbury! I have loved my time here in Newbury and have made some friends that will last me a lifetime! Newbury and NI will always have a special place in my heart :-)
