The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Mundipharma Research.
I always felt valued by my colleagues and was able to foster professional working relationships with fellow colleagues and clients.
I had regular 1-2-1 meetings with my manger and she was incredibly supportive and always available if I wanted to talk through anything.
There were times when it got quite busy but it was never unmanageable. When it was quieter I was able to assist my colleagues and gain exposure to more generalist HR role.
As my manager regularly worked away from the office it was my responsibility to create a positive impression of the Learning and Development team. I also had 3 objectives to complete during my year – all of which were linked to the strategic organisational objectives.
Undertaking a placement has given me a greater understanding of the theories which I have been taught during the final year. As a result I have noticed a significant improvement in my grades.
The Company
There was a very friendly atmosphere within the office. It is the type of company who celebrate their successes which I found engaging and motivational.
It was very well organised. Upon arrival I had a well structured induction schedule which enabled me to settle into the role quickly.
I was encouraged to attend the learning and development events which I thought would be appropriate to both my current role and future career. The company had lots of different events to attend including presentation skills.

If I hadn't already secured a job I would have loved to go back.
The Culture
Yes, I often went out with the other students and made some great friends.
Cambridge isn’t the cheapest place to live but the salary reflects the increased cost of living and I was able to save money during the year. The company also covered the costs of a relocation agent who searched for and arranged viewings for properties which was fantastic.
There are lots of pubs, bars and clubs in the city centre and surrounding areas but they can be a bit pricey.
The company had a sports and social club who organised theatre trips, pub quizzes, BBQ’s etc.
