The Role
It was definitely an experience that I won't forget in the near future. I enjoyed the internship very much and it was a joy working here for 10 weeks. I enjoyed every second of it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
My colleagues were overwhelmingly helpful at all times. There were always available whenever I needed anything and whenever I needed some explaining. They walked me through the tasks that I was unsure of very carefully and made sure that I understood everything and when I was working they always made the effort to take on my opinions and ideas.
My manager was as helpful and supportive as the other members of my team if not even more so. The questions that I asked were answered very quickly and very thoroughly to make sure there was no doubt at all. If I was at all unsure, he made sure I wasn't after a quick chat.
The work that I was given was challenging but that's not to say that I didn't enjoy it - I really did. It was never overwhelming because I had an excellent team of people to ask questions to if I was not sure and I was always busy working on something that was important to the company. This made me feel quite a valued part of the team.
The responsibility that I was given was quite large right from the start. It was a bit of a surprise but I quickly got used to it and as I got used to it, I was given even more responsibility and expected to do even more for the team and the company.
The skills that I developed while working at the company include, but are not limited to, team work skills, communication skills, technical skills regarding the tasks I had to complete, speaking in front of quite a large group of people. This improved my confidence greatly and will prepare me greatly for the remainder of my degree.
The Company
In general the atmosphere was very welcoming. All of the people in the office seemed very approachable and very friendly. This made it very easy to hop from desk to desk between the members of my team if I needed to ask any questions or perhaps just take a little break. It was very relaxed, allowing me to get on with my work without someone breathing down my neck.
I have to say, it was remarkably well set up. I went into the office on the first day equipped with exactly what I had to do and how everything worked because all of this was organised before the internship even started. This didn't stop my manager giving me a quick rundown of what was expected though. The organisation was excellent all round.
In terms of personal training and development, the company supported me all through the internship with the training that I needed to do well and do a good job. This training was all provided during the first week of the internship with the option to take on further training if I desired.

I was offered a graduate job on completion of the internship.
The Culture
I loved every second of working at the company but that didn't stop me from having fun outside of work too. I would regularly meet up with some of the other interns to catch up and to just have a good time - perhaps at a nearby club or just for lunch. Whatever it was, I feel that I got along well with the other students at the company.
Some of the places that I went out to were stupidly expensive but that was all to be expected. A lot of the places that I went out for lunch to or to get drinks were actually quite reasonable to be honest.
I didn't go out that much to the clubs around the area but I went to a few - 3 or 4, and I had quite a good time there. I mostly went out to some nearby pubs or bars to have a quiet drink with some of my friends. On the whole the nightlife is definitely reasonable to say the least.
I went to some of the parties that the company organised - a really good chance to just let my hair down and forget about work for a bit. It was a wonderful way to relax and enjoy myself. Of course, most of the time I had work the next day so I couldn't go to that many places.
