The Role
It was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. I learned a lot and it confirmed for me that I want to work in the area when I graduate. I had a great time, overall.
I definitely felt valued by my colleagues. It was quite a small team so we were pretty close and the team were really friendly and supportive.
I was given a lot of support and guidance by my manager -- it seemed like he was always there to help whenever I needed which was great. I felt I could any question I wanted and I was able to improve by shadowing my manager.
The balance of work I was given was really great. I didn't feel like the work was overwhelming me at any point, though at times it can get quite challenging.
I was given some responsibility for the projects that I took on. The projects were not that big, but seeing that they trusted me to run it was really great.
I learned a lot. The skills I learned will definitely be put to good use later on in life. The internship was a great way to enhance and also to pick up new skills.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Everyone had a hard-working attitude which meant that work was getting completed at quite a rate but it never felt too serious which was good. I worked well in the environment.
It was organised very well. We were given help to settle in at the beginning and then communications were constant so that the interns knew what was happening. I was impressed at the organisation -- it made the internship a more enjoyable experience on the whole.
A lot of time was spent with my manager, discussing the work that I had done. I learned a lot from these sessions and it allowed me to improve greatly. The training which was provided during the internship was great too.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
I hope to apply for a graduate job here when I finish university. The internship has shown me that this is the type of place I would like to work.
The Culture
The social scene was great. There were quite a few interns in my cohort and we all got to know each other very quickly. We were together often and I made some great friends.
The company subsidizes accommodation which was great. I didn't find managing my budget too hard during the internship.
The nightlife was mediocre. I went out a few times with the other interns but we all felt that it was lacking.
Quite a few opportunities to get involved. For example, networking events and also sport events were a great way to meet new people. I enjoyed going to the pub with my colleagues at the end of the week.
