The Role
I was given real responsibilities from the first day and felt like a valued memer of the team.
My colleagues trusted me to do important tasks as well as listen and take on board points that I had to make. They also invested a lot of time into my placement by coaching me and teaching me skills that I will take with me in to the future.
The placement was very structured yet flexible. I was set specific targets and also achieved with the help and support of those around me.
I was constantly busy and never bored. There was always something for me to get stuck into and learn more about. There was plenty of opportunities for me to get involved with anything that was offered to me but also the understanbdig from others that I had other commitments.
As I've mentioned earlier, this is a real job and I was given real responsibilities. Running projects and events that without my input, would not have been possible as it was my responsibility. It was good to see how appreciative the team kembers were of the work I was completing.
By doing this placement I have gained skills that I will use throughout my life. It puts into perspective all that I have learnt on my University Course.
The Company
Working in a large office was daunting at first, however the atmosphere across all Cummins' offices is friendly. There is always someone smiling / talking to you, it starts to feel like a family.
Really well organised, as the placement has been running for several years it is adapting to the changing environment andbeing managed by a well experienced team.
From day one I was coached and alot of time was invested in my personal development. There was always help and support around me if I was unsure of tasks. I now feel confident that I can go into any job with these basic skillsand contoinue to develop the foundations that have been set.

There is plenty of roles within Cummins, it's just whether I can find the right role in the right location for me!
The Culture
Moving to a large office with a lot of other placements and graduates there was always plenty of social activities to get involved with within the office and outside of work. I have gained friends that I will stay in touch with for a long time.
There was plenty of accomodation available, as for costs, you pay for what you want. Shared accomodation was readily available at a reasonable price, living alone was a lot more expensive.
Being a smaller city there were limited places to go out of a weekend.
I found activities that I wanted to get involved in but I'm not sure if there were many other activities to get involved with.
