The Role
I have throughly enjoyed my time here at Cummins. I feel like the year has provided me with a lot of experience and knowledge I can take back with me for my final year. I've had the chance to experience a real working enviroment with a really good company that has provided me with many opportunities to develop myself and also meet many new people.
It was very easy for me to fit in from the start as everyone was very friendly and helpful.
My team has always given me constant support and is there when I need guidance and help. They always give good advice and feedback when needed.
I was usually very busy coming up to shows or other important events which I enjoyed as I think that is the time when you learn the most.
I was surprised at how much responsibility I was given. I feel this gave me a good opportunity to learn a lot and I enjoyed this.
The skills I have developed and gained through the year will really help me as I have a real insight into Marketing itself and how a company works. I feel this will also provide me with great experience when I come to apply for a graduate role with that knowledge behind me, giving me an advantage.
The Company
There was a balanced mix of good work ethic whilst making sure everyone was happy and you had a laugh.
The placement was set up well. There was a lot of work and chances to take on real responsibility. I gained many event planning, marketing and organisational skills. I also learnt a lot through the Student Programme run by the company which also helped develop myself. It was all quite organised.
I feel the company a lot of time is spent invested on me as there is a lot of development and maining training courses I was able to take part in making sure I developed my soft skills as well as product knowledge skills relevant to the company and job role.

I feel there will be lots of opportunities within the company as a whole and I will make sure I stay in contact with the right people whilst I'm away. It may be a bit harder to come back into the same team due to headcount.
The Culture
There was a brilliant student group this year and we got on so well. We also did activities together especially coming from all parts, we all came to Darlington together not knowing many people and created a bond.
Very cheap to live in Darlington!!
The night life was pretty decent for a small town. Big cities are also not too far away if you wanted a better night out.
There are many activities outside of work that always pop up that you can take part in.
