The Role
I really enjoyed the placement , it gave me an experience as to what its like to have a full time job with responsibilities.
My Colleagues treated me like part of the team and i felt valued as a team member. They respected me like any other team member and the fact i was a placement student didnt negatively effect their attitude towards me.
Regular one to one meetings and quartery reviews. Also whevener i did have a problem my manager was around to speak to and i felt comfortable doing so.
In my role i had times where i would be severely busy and times where it would quieten down significantly.
Enough responsibility where i could have significant input however nothing i did not feel comfortable with.
the skils i developed which could help me in the future are : Presentation skills Excel skills Meeting Management Project Management

Well organised. good contact between the university and Cummins
We had external training aswell as internal which was greatly appreciated , gave me the opportunity to develop skills that i already had aswell as new skills.

The Culture
There was a good social scene amongst placement students. We would regular go out for drinks and meals. Most weekends were filled with clubbing and fun. it was good to unwind and let your hair down after a week of work.
Cost of living was £300 PCM Cost of Dinner : £15 Cost of Clubbing /Drinks : £20
was okay - better night out in Canterbury because of Kent University but within Thanet id recommend Broadstairs
Many sports clubs and opportunities , and every now and again bowling and quiz nights. Also within the departement we did paintballing and extra activites.
