The Role
It was very good. Exposed me to the corporate world and really helped prepare me for the real world.
At Microsoft, it feels as if you are put first. If you have a question for someone, they literally stop everything they are doing and help you with whatever you need. They also invite you to several out of office events making you feel that much closer to the team! Great environment that will never be forgotten
I changed manager quite often due to my sector going through some major changes. However, all managers met with me on a regular basis to make sure I was getting the most out of my placement and making sure that I was having a good time!
Over the internship I acquired a second job which increased the workload significantly. However, with some help and good time management I was able to have a great life balance while at the same time working on several projects I was interested.
Everyone at the company trusts you would do a good job and therefore the responsibility given to you is quite high! However, if needed, they will be there as a back up in case things do go wrong, which is very nice to know!
The skills I've learned will help me greatly with life and my studies! I've learnt how to time manage, how to be confident with the work I produce, trust my own opinion (rather than shy away) and several more!
The Company
Everyone was amazing, really friendly and knew how to have a good time despite have to work all day!
It was well organised. However, a lot of the responsibility came down to me organising my time here. As it was my first job, I didn't do this so well and would have liked a bit more guidance. However, the support available/given by all was incredible
If it was within reason, the managers/company would be more than happy to invest in you. I've been certified in different Microsoft technologies and even travelled to Paris to be accredited to deliver a windows 8.1 app development workshop! Amazing!

Very appealing! They MACH scheme offered is an excellent way of getting you into a job after graduating and puts you ahead of a lot of your colleagues due to the support, opportunities and everything Microsoft has to offer
The Culture
Everyone was really friendly and excited to meet each other. The interns go together most weekends and a very nice and strong community was formed by the end of it.
It was more expensive than I'm used to. However, with the income I received it was very very affordable
Good fun! Had some amazing nights out and now have several stories to take back to uni!
There is always something going on outside of work! People are always looking for help with charity events and team get togethers etc!
