    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • My office was very relaxed and laid back, there was always support when needed but also people were always happy to have a cup of tea and chat.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall structure was very well set up, the mentor ship and the commitments were set out and if i was unsure I knew who to ask.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt like the firm fully invested in me. I joined Microsoft not knowing what section of business I wanted to peruse. People were more than happy to take time out to discuss my future, their roles and even allow shadowing. There was a number of outlets for training which was also encouraged.

  • The prospect of the graduate role is very appealing and I look forward to applying back.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a very strong intern community as well as a community within each team.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living was a little high as it was closer to London than where I previously lived.

  • I am not one to enjoy night-life so cannot comment on this.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was able to mix with people outside of work due to similar interests. There are a lot of societies within the company to get involved in outside of working hours.
