The Role
Microsoft is a fantastic place to work on your year out. I've done some amazing things this year, Most of which I would never have expected I would be doing.
I was given huge levels of responsibility throughout my year as an intern. One of the stand out opportunities I was given was leading and managing a monthly editorial meeting of 20-30 senior members of staff. The outcome of which fed into our content marketing strategy for the month ahead. This meant I was the voice for this process and therefore my input was incredibly valued my colleagues.
I had regular weekly half hour catch up's with my manager. During these I could share updates on my day to day work, the projects I'm involved with and info on any support or guidance that I needed.
I was extremely busy, mostly down to taking on extra opportunities. This in turn provided me with extra skills, experiences and increased visibility in the business.
I was given loads of responsibility. I led 3 different projects on top of my day to day role.
Immensely. I'll certainly be taking back a lot of learnings from this year into my final year. I've been able to build on the skills I already possess, but also gain many new ones.
