The Role
My job at Microsoft was my first full time role, and it has exceeded expectations. I've enjoyed both the role itself and everything outside the role!
Always felt valuable to the team, especially my manager. Did important projects and was trusted to do weekly rhythm of business that goes to senior leaders.
My manager was excellent and always supportive. He was always there to give guidance and insights despite being very busy.
Microsoft is a very dynamic company, and I believe this is reflected in the workload. There were times when it was too busy and times where there was little to do, but that's no bad thing.
Took lead on an independant project important for the Xbox business in the future, and also ran weekly reports shown to hundreds of internal staff. Couldn't have asked for more responsibility than that!
Not too much in terms of theory as my degree did not really relate to my role - but organization, adaptiblity, presentation skills - these have all grown at Microsoft and I feel it has even been more useful than two years at University.
The Company
Working in Xbox was very fun - it was a colourful office with a lot going on, as well as weekly events that happen,
Very well set up, props to the University Staffing Team. There is much more attention to the interns and the programme here at Microsoft, you won't find better elsewhere.
There are many opportunites both inside and outside work - personal development is huge at Microsoft. Managers are also very encouraging in this regard!

There is a graduate scheme, but not in Xbox currently where I would like to work. Getting back into my team is quite difficult.
The Culture
Decent, but never participated that much
Not too bad considering it is reading, had more than enough for fun
Reading is a bit hit and miss, better to travel to London
Endless! There are many opportunities, not just available to interns. Literally always have an opportunity to get involved in events
