The Role
My colleagues in the office were friendly and made me feel welcome, the work provided was also insightful and never tedious
I was made feel welcome and as if I was a part of the office instead of only an intern
If I ever had a query everyone was approachable and never made me feel silly asking for help, when I was given help they would take time out of their work to sit with me and show me every step so that I could finish the work but also understand what I was doing and why it was important.
I was busy most of the time but there were points where I would be sitting waiting for work if I completed my set tasks quicker than anticipated.
As well as completing basic reporting I was given a great deal of responsibility for testing during an audit.
The tasks I was carrying out will prove useful when returning to my honours year and have given me a fuller understanding of the audit process
The Company
It was never dull in the office as everyone was chatty and it made even the most tedious of tasks fly by. The six weeks went by in a heartbeat as I was never bored In the office.
I was assigned to clients for my six weeks with the company before I even started and if there was no work available I was moved onto a different client straight away, everything ran smoothly.
There was training before I started as well as throughout each job, I felt as if I was constantly learning as I worked.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
I was offered a graduate position and did not have to think twice about accepting.
The Culture
Each Friday the interns were invited out if the staff were going for a drink after work as well being involved with any organised social event that was on.
The office is five minutes from where I live so I already knew the average cost of getting around and going out etc so it was as expected.
The office is in the Glasgow city centre so there is a wide variety of nightlife to suit any needs, we even went for drinks in a Hawaiian themed bar one night which says it all really.
As well as nights out there were volunteering opportunities and sports events that anyone can attend.
