The Role
I really enjoyed my placement and the experience it gave me. I would apply back into a similar line of business as I felt it was a friendly, dynamic place to work.
I felt as though I was part of the team, the account I worked on had a great work ethic as well as being sociable.
I was given a great deal of support and guidance as each individual on the placement scheme has a Personal Development Manager to make sure they are on the right track and are given the information and support they need.
How busy I was fluctuated greatly throughout the year at times being very quiet and others being very busy. I was never bored or too busy at the same time it wasn't quite the perfect balance. It just depended on the needs and wants of the Client throughout the financial year.
I was given a great deal of responsibility throughout my placement at times being the main contact for the Customer to turn to over queries, however this was balanced by a great deal of support from my team.
The skills I have developed have shaped the person I have become, I have developed skills in many different areas. The confidence I have gained from this year has helped me more than I can express, I am able to hold myself strongly and confidently in situations I would have struggled with at the beginning of the year.
The Company
The atmosphere was great, there is a lovely, friendly ambiance which helps with relationships. However it was not to such an extreme that it affected the way I worked.
The placement was very well set up and organised with check points throughout the year to see how you are developing
There are endless opportunities to train and develop throughout the year in any specific area you wish to learn about. There are certain compulsory educations that help your understanding of IBM in general and the way you should be acting within the work place.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
I will apply back to the Graduate scheme as it is very appealing in comparison with other companies.
The Culture
Yes, there was a great atmosphere between all placement students.
I did not live in London whilst I worked there, as I commuted in, however London is not very cheap at all to go out.
As mentioned above I didn't live in London so this wasn't really important.
There were certain clubs that you could get involved with however I feel that this could have been organised and advertised better than it was.
