The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, it was nice to use the skills that i have learnt in university and to see scenarios in which they are useful.
There were times where things went straight over my head, but this is to be expected when working with people who have far more experience than you, but when asked they fully explained the situation.
There was always guidence available when needed. Just ask and the rest of the team is happy to help.
i found myself very busy. As people say there is always work to do even if it needs to be found. When i wasn't at work i found myself reading journals related to this field, so that i could hopefully contribute a little more.
I had a huge amount of responsibilty, i would often make technical changes after going through a review process.
The skills i have learnt and improved are not just technical but people and customer skills.
The Company
Cool.......Good AirConditioning....... The atmosphere was really uplifting and positive, the staff in the office were brilliant to work with and be around.
The whole process was set up really well and is run by the previous years interns.
I had access to all the company training including technical course like CCNA.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Unfortunately they are decreasing IT headcount
The Culture
I didnt live locally but interns went out regualrly
I commuted from outside and have no idea about this.
Again didnt live locally.
There was always something good to contribute whether be Charity projects or just helping out in the community
