The Role
The Placement is very well structured and offers the chance to spend time in store along with various departments across the Company so the Placement is always interesting and enjoyable.
Spending 6 months working in the same team in store means that you are able to build strong relationships and have constant support from more experienced members of staff.
During my store time I had constant contact with my Store manager and Area Manager, who would support and guide me along the way. Regular reviews are set up across the year so I could receive feedback and guidance.
During the Placement I was always very busy on a day to day basis, it requires a great deal of hard work, but it is interesting and meant that i was never bored.
I was given a great deal of responsibility. As an Assistant Manager of a Supermarket, I frequently ran shifts and was responsible for various Store Assistants working at that time.
The training involved was very thorough and the nature of the Placement meant I was able to build on a variety of skills that will assist me in completing my degree and securing Graduate Employment. It gives an insight in to the way in which the Company do business and can be beneficial to candidates hoping to secure a place on the Aldi Graduate Scheme.
The Company
The people at work were always friendly and easy to work with.
The work placement was always well structured. A plan was given on the first day which highlighted exactly what I would be doing for the year ahead.
The Company invested alot of time into my training and development.
The Aldi Graduate Scheme is rated as one of the highest in the UK so future job prospects are very good
The Culture
The Industrial Placement Students within my region would regularly go out for dinner and socialise outside of work.
The cost of living was reasonable.
I did not get a great deal of oppourtunity to experience the nightlife due to the nature of the work.
The Industrial Placement Students regularly went out after work and socialised.
