The Role
My job could be quite stressful at times because I was given tasks that all other buyers were expected to do but my colleagues were always supportive and it was a great atmosphere to work in
I was welcomed into the team from the first day, I have made great professional relationships but also long lasting relationships on a personal level as well. I couldn't of asked for a better team.
I only had a two day handover from my predecessor so I relied on my manager and team lead during the first month or two to guide me and advise me and they were very supportive. They also gave great feedback during my reviews that meant a lot.
The work load did take about a month to kick off as I was getting to grips with everything but I was a member of the team and my own accounts to work on as well as supporting other colleagues. This kept me very busy and I was able to be involved in a lot of different tasks.
IBM is a great placement to have because you are given a real role with the responsibility that comes with it. I worked in procurement so was trusted to approve contracts and orders up to a certain amount.
The Company
Very well organised. I was assigned a personal development manager as well as a task manager and had regular reviews in order to make sure I was getting along ok and to support me throughout the year.
