The Role
I loved my year on placement. It was the best decision I've made to date.
I was in a small team who I got along with really well. We were all happy to support each other over holiday cover etc.
My manager was absent for some of my placement, but I was always able to approach other members of the company for support if needed.
I had a very busy role but it meant that I got to learn a lot in a short space of time.
The favorite aspect of my placement has been the fact that I was given real responsibility from day one.
I've learned numerous skills that will benefit me in the future. Such as organization, teamwork, networking and and self-management, to name a few!
The Company
Because there were other interns in my office, I was able to sit with them.
Because they had other interns in my role in previous years, there was a clearly defined role for me once I entered the job.
They provided free courses to improve your technical skills and were happy to let you shadow people who were in a job role which interested you.

The Culture
There were lots of other interns within the company. We had a great social group and made plans each weekend and throughout the week.
It wasn't cheap, but as there was a university in the town, they had student nights that we could go to throughout the week.
As there was a university in the town, there were loads of places suited to students.
As well as socializing outside of work with my peers, you could also get involved in voluntary work projects to network with other people within the company.
