  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I loved my year on placement. It was the best decision I've made to date.

  • I was in a small team who I got along with really well. We were all happy to support each other over holiday cover etc.

  • My manager was absent for some of my placement, but I was always able to approach other members of the company for support if needed.

  • I had a very busy role but it meant that I got to learn a lot in a short space of time.

  • The favorite aspect of my placement has been the fact that I was given real responsibility from day one.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've learned numerous skills that will benefit me in the future. Such as organization, teamwork, networking and and self-management, to name a few!

  • Because there were other interns in my office, I was able to sit with them.

  • Because they had other interns in my role in previous years, there was a clearly defined role for me once I entered the job.

  • They provided free courses to improve your technical skills and were happy to let you shadow people who were in a job role which interested you.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were lots of other interns within the company. We had a great social group and made plans each weekend and throughout the week.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It wasn't cheap, but as there was a university in the town, they had student nights that we could go to throughout the week.

  • As there was a university in the town, there were loads of places suited to students.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • As well as socializing outside of work with my peers, you could also get involved in voluntary work projects to network with other people within the company.
