About You
Overall, a very enjoyable fortnight of real work and good socials.
Everyone I did work for made me like an asset.
In terms of the work, supervisors were very willing to explain thoroughly what they wanted me to do and were open to my questions. Extra support in terms of IT/Library and HR were all very supportive.
Supervisors and trainee buddies provided very good actionable feedback both on specific word-related tasks and general approaches.
The Company
A very seamless and well-structured experience. There was a perfect balance of departmental talks, training, and socials. It was structured thus that I was never at a loss for something to do.
The trainees buddies and supervisors created a welcoming atmosphere, as did staff throughout SH.
They took time to induct us properly with IT etc.
Considering it was just a fortnight, I felt as though I gained a good understanding of the firm and the type of work that was available.
Trainees were very open about the positives and negatives of the firm and its culture. It was also good to go to informal drinks to talk to a wider range of people too.
Everything Else
260 per week was provided as an allowance.
There were both formal and informal events.
There was a good balance of social events.
There was information on what was available although there did not seem to be many opportunities in this respect.
Despite not subsequently receiving an offer, the experience was still very valuable and I feel will be very useful for future schemes.
