    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was extremely enjoyable and we were made to feel welcomed and part of the team immediately. Overall the internship was good fun as we were given a whole variety of work and clients which kept us engaged through the duration of the internship

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt extremely welcomed and part of the team. I was invited along to a number of social events and participated in everything from weekly football to BBQ's and evening drinks.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We were coached through every task every step of the way. I didn't feel like they assumed any prior knowledge and they really started from the very basics until you are able to tackle more complex tasks. The managers are all really approachable and happy to ask any questions - no matter how ridiculous you may think they are!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was personally extremely busy on a daily basis and had plenty of work to complete. I never really found myself performing menial tasks to fill the time in the day and the work all seemed to be integral to the specific job.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The amount of responsibility really exceeded my expectations and the work I performed was clearly of importance. Although we were coached through every piece of work I also felt very responsibility with me to manage my time effectively to finish the task on schedule.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I learnt, especially in building client relationships and presentations, will be invaluable.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was always a really good atmosphere in the office and everyone was really chatty.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall organisation of the internship was excellent. I never felt like I didn't know what I was meant to be doing or where I was meant ot be. there was extremely good correspondence from both the student recruitment team and individual job managers.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The whole 3 day induction in Staverton Park showed how much PwC really do invest in interns. We had 1 day of team building activities and 2 days of really useful and intense training with senior associates. PwC invested a lot of time and a lot of money into my training and development.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    National Travel

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I was offered a graduate job in the exit interview on my penultimate day of the internship. Every other intern I knew got job offers too.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Our intake of interns were all really friendly and we got on really well. We regularly met up for drinks and attended the company parties together etc.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Reading is reasonably priced and you can always find a cheap place if you need to.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Reading nightlife is good if you've never been to the city before. However it does get pretty repetitive if you know the area well!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were tonnes of things for us to get involved in. I played football every Tuesday evening and attended staff BBQ's and drinks most weeks.
