The Role
A good experience of the Test/Development sector of Engineering
Friendly working atmosphere with plenty of mutual respect
Continuous advice was provided throughout the year, on personal and professional levels alike
Always encouraged to be pro-active during more lean work periods
I was permitted to co-ordinate customers test programmes with minimal assistance
Skills such as time management/planning and customer interaction, as well as general communicative abilities that have been developed will be invaluable in future employment
The Company
Very healthy, jovial yet professional atmosphere. A good work morale assisted in maintaining a strong enthusiasm and work ethic
It was helpful to begin my experience with the department from the ground up, initial time with the technicians to understand instrumentation/test preparation as well as the opportunity to talk to the technicians which was helpful once I made the transition into an engineering role, delegating tasks to them
Arrangements were made to ensure I became familiar with all varieties of test work conducted by the department
Sports and Social Club
Plenty of opportunity to grow within the organisation especially given the investment plan from the new owners
The Culture
A number of gatherings were organised
Cost of living was reasonable...when comparing against the cost of living at University in London
Didn't sample Bedford on many occasions
Millbrook sports and social - badminton, squash, football, karting was also organised on a couple of occasions
