    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really good - surpassed my expectations!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I joined two really close, friendly teams. I could not have joined better teams! After the first month I was able to take on a lot of the teams tasks and hopefully they saw me as a reliable and willing to take on anything.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • They have been really supportive and have pushed me to get as much as possible out of my placement as well as allowing me to get involved in more graduate level tasks. My managers were very approachable.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This varied depending on which team I was on but I never felt I had really run out of work or that I couldn't ask for more.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • This really surprised me! I was given responsibility for a far greater amount of things than I had expected and completed tasks I didn't think I would possibly be given. This allowed me to get much more out of my time at the Bank.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have recieved a lot of training during the year from three day courses to ad hoc sessions with team members. The training has been absolutely brilliant and a lot of it should be relevant to the rest of my degree and any job I get in the future. On top of this the basic skills you develop from any placement (soft skills) have hopefully also prepared me well.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Good atmosphere. People are obviously very busy but it was quite relaxed.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It seemed to all go well there was no really big issues.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There has been lots of training as well as the opportunity to get qualifications in IT for example.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to return to the bank as a graduate and so will definitely be applying later this year!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good social scene between the students and this was actively encouraged by the Bank.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home and commuted to work so I can't really comment on the cost of living although the train fare was expensive! Being central London it is always going to be that bit more pricey.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was good - some nice places to go for after work drinks.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were regular drinks with the teams as well as team building events which were good fun.

    5/5
