The Role
The placement far exceeded my expectations. I learnt a lot from this company.
I was treated as a full time employee and the majority of my colleagues were unaware that I was on a placement. I was given key responsibilities and roles with FTSE100 companies.
The appraisal process in place is very comprehensive and I was assigned a personal appraiser.
The job roles vary dramatically, so there were days when I was too busy and very slow days. On the whole, the workload was about right.
I was given far more responsibility than I anticipated. I was responsible for large chunks of work and had regular contact with senior clients.
I have learned incredible amounts during my placement. These will be incredibly in the future, but may not apply so much to my studies.
The Company
The Deloitte offices were a little quiet, but that is because the majority of people work at the client offices, myself included. So it is therefore dependent on the client.
There was a specific Industrial Placement team and many people I knew I could contact if I had any queries.
The estimated spend on my training was £40k - £50k over the course of a year. This massively exceeded my expectations and given me a fantastic foundation from which to build my career.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
I have every intention of rejoining the firm if given the chance.
The Culture
The placement students were very much integrated with the 250 new graduate joiners. There was always someone and something to do.
I spent Monday-Friday's away from the office, so I had a generous expense allowance which covered the majority of my 'socialising'.
I was in London so my night life was amazing. I found something happening around the streets. always lively atmosphere.
There were seemingly clubs of all varieties associated with the firm.
