The Role
Everyone was really friendly and I always had work to get on with! Also lots of socials were organised which meant I made some really good friends during my time working at Deloitte!
I was able to pick up a lot of tasks for people and it was nice to help people out when they were busy! However at times I felt like I was pestering for work or people gave me tasks and assumed I would know how to complete them so perhaps didn't offer as much guidance as I might have liked.
We were given buddy's in each department we worked in and I found this so helpful because if I did struggle with tasks there was always someone I could go and ask and they if I didn't have a task to work on they introduced me to people who might find work for me.
There was slight fluctuations between having nothing to do and having a million things to do! However in general I felt I had a perfect amount of work - I mostly always had something to be getting on with, without being under too much pressure to complete more tasks than I had time for.
I got to do some really interesting tasks and I felt like a lot of what I was doing was what I would do if I joined the firm. I spent time interacting with clients and the tasks I carried out on my placement really helped me understand more about the way the firm works.
I think the skills I learnt will help me in whatever job I go on to do. Receiving constant feedback really helped me identify my weaker points and working with so many different people in so many different areas really helped me learn how to get involved straight away with a job!
The Company
Everyone worked very hard but there was the perfect level of chat without it becoming a distraction. Everyone was really friendly and there was a sufficiency of brew rounds!
Very well organised. Very occasionally I felt there wasn't much work for me to do but this was mainly because the job was coming to end in general and wasn't to do with poor organisation.
I did a lot of online courses and Audit / tax and IT training prior to going into the office.

Reasonably priced.
Manchester is great! It has a number of places to choose from.
There are a lot of networks you can become involved in and community days etc.
