About You
It was interesting to hear about banking from a female perspective at a women's event. It taught me a lot about the industry and some of the different roles.
Only a day, but lots of important people had taken time out from their work to speak to us.
It was only for a day, so there wasn't much opportunity for this.
Tips on being confident in a business environment were useful and will help in future interviews and internships
The Company
Well structured, was only for a day but I would have enjoyed hearing about more areas of the bank.
Lots of interactive activities to help build our confidence in the workplace and find out about the company.
Somebody was hired especial for the event to help us be more confident and assertive which will be useful to us all in the future and even helped at the networking afterwards.
In some divisions yes, but some areas were not mentioned. One employee talked to us abut her day to day duties and how she had travelled with UBS and had the opportunity to live abroad.
There were different talks and a networking section which meant we could ask questions to find out more. The employees told us about their long hours but that it was rewarding and there are many social activities going in as well.
Everything Else
I had travelled from London so was not reimbursed but believe those who came from further away had their travel paid for. The event was only for the day so I would not expect to be paid.
There was networking after the presentations had ended and new graduate employers came to chat to us as well as the professionals who spoke at the event.
It was good to speak to employers and recent graduates but there were probably too many students for the employers so it was hard to get a chance to speak to them.
Yes, we found out about the different networks and activities.
I would recommend this day to female students who are interested in banking but aren't sure what it might involve.
