The Role
The work was great for gaining some experience into project management and scheduling, I would have liked some more creativity in the role however.
I fitted into the team well as was treated like a full time employee and not a placement student
A lot of reviews and feedback as well as being a source of help and guidance when needed
Over the first 6 months I found myself being bored every so often, as the placement moved into the final 6 months things really picked up.
I was sourcing suppliers as well as editing and reviewing marketing communications materials which would be used in campaigns and at events.
Project management training will definitely be a strong platform from which to base my dissertation and the other modules for my final year, I feel a lot more confident now than I would have otherwise
The Company
The people I worked with were great, it was normally a good balance between fun and hard work.
The placement year has been something Cummins have been doing on site for years now and so has a well organized structure
I received a 2 day training course in project management along with senior employees from throughout the business. I also received 4 separate days of training which were placement student sepcific on things such as presenting and adapting the the work environment.

Having hired new people for when my placement has finished I feel the headcount will no leave room for me to come back, I feel ready for a different challenge now either way.
The Culture
Not the liveliest place to live, some nice spots and great weather in the summer months - nice beach
reasonably expensive
not the place to be for hectic nightlife
yes I played football and had the options of other sports and other events too. The sports and social club run events through work such as day trips.
