The Role
Great experience having 6 months hands on experience, then 6 months as the engineer running tests.
Got on really well with everyone. Able to have a laugh, willing to take time out to teach me new things and explain the more complicated things as well.
My original mentor left after a few months into my placement, but a new mentor was assigned quickly and was willing to help with anything.
There were peaks and troughs of work, but I had other projects to fill in the quiter periods.
I was left to run my own projects and also carry out important work for the customer by myself.
Great experience gained, definitely will come in useful when returning to university.
The Company
The atmosphere was still good even when there were a lot of changes in the staff.
Given a training matrix for when I was getting the hands on experience and another for when I was running the projects.
Given some training, but all staff were willing to help whenever I asked.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Would like to get into the development side more, rather than just durability testing.
The Culture
Invited to every meal within my department. Met up regularly with other undergrads, as well as playing football with a few of them each week.
Made the most of the student nights!
Not too bad, living in Bedford definitely allowed more nights out.
Played football each week and other sports were on offer. Asked to help a local college with their Formula E entry as well.
