The Role
Generally most days are busy which is how I prefer, if I wasn't testing I would be writing reports or dealing with bookings.
I started with low responsibility and was mainly focused on testing and understanding how everything works, but now I am towards the end of my placement I have lots more responsibility dealing with customers directly, and taking up a more managerial role.
I feel I have progressed most in my communication skills, from giving presentations and dealing with customers directly on a daily basis I am a lot more confident when dealing with people. The training I have received at Millbrook has also improved my technical knowledge with regards to testing to standards or regulations, and has given me a great insight into large engineering sectors such as automotive and aerospace.
The Company
I got on very well with all my office and workshop colleagues.
Lots of different training and development workshops were given, from presentation skills to skid-car training which even Bedfordshire police undertake.

The Culture
Rent prices can be quite high due to the proximity to London but I would say cost of living is average.
Bedford has the best nightlife with Milton Keynes also having good places to eat and drink.
I currently play football with colleagues every Thursday which is also funded by Millbrook through their sports and social club, there are other sports activities such as badminton which you can get involved in or if you would like to start a club you can do so and apply for subs or complete funding by the sports and social club. During my placement I have also been rock climbing with the rest of the undergrads and had food and drinks on nights out.
