The Role
Really enjoyed working at NATS, the work was interesting and challenging and everyone was really friendly and helpful.
I was always treated like every other member of staff, I was trusted to get on with work but always had someone to ask for help if it was needed.
I had Monthly meetings with my supervisor to catch up on work and how I was getting on. I also felt I could approach him whenever if I had a problem.
It varied but I was always given the opportunity to talk to my supervisor if I had too much/little work. There were always other things I could start if I ran out of work so I never had nothing to do.
I was given a lot of responsibility. I was trusted to meet deadlines, meet with customers and manage my own time.
I have gained a lot of skills that will be of an advantage to me going into my last year at university including Excel, Access, Time management and other computer programs.
The Company
There is always a really nice atmosphere in the office, everyone is really friendly.
Really well organised
Training courses at the beginning of my placement and also visits to other NATS sites.
There isn't a graduate scheme in this department but there are vacancies within the department to apply to.
The Culture
Yes, a lot of other Industrial placement students in other departments too.
About average.
Good nightlife, close to Portsmouth and Southampton.
Yes, there were a lot of activities organised so lots of opportunity to socialise outside of work.
