The Role
Although the job itself was varied and I was given a lot of responsibility, it is hard to enjoy a job that is working for a brand you do not like yourself (personal opinion)
Everyone was extremely nice and friendly, and you aren't treated like a student.
Whenever I needed help, my manager and supervisors were always available to help.
My days were very varied, so some I was too busy, and others I had barely anything to do. Project work is like that though, and that was a lot of my job.
Very high levels of responsibility, as I was involved in various large scale projects and events, and was trusted to complete the tasks both individually and as part of a team.
Working in an office for a year when you are more than likely going to be looking for office jobs in the future is key, and the experience gained and knowledge developed, regardless of the product/brand you're working for, will help anyone in the future and will certainly look better on the CV than no office work experience.
The Company
People in the office always enjoyed a chat, but there's only so much fun you can have in an office when you have work to do, so I suppose this seems an odd question!
It was pretty well structured generally, but I have nothing to compare it to really as this was my first experience in an internship.
A lot of the training was learning as you went, and you had to pick up stuff and develop quickly to keep up, and I didn't exactly have much training personally, as in my particular role there was unlikely to be access to a job after university, unless I went on the trainee programme.

Company Parties/Events
The company run a fantastic grad scheme, and of course it helps that you have worked with them in the past for a year. I personally won't be looking to return, but I know others have shown an interest, and in certain departments they offered people to stay on part time during their final year at uni.
The Culture
It started off well, but as the year went on the only times we spent together were during lunchtimes in the kitchen. 2 groups of students lived together so that created an atmosphere similar to university, but only really at weekends!
Cost of living is relatively cheap, but if your placement is in Eastleigh you are unlikely to find a student house in Eastleigh so you'll be paying for travel/petrol/bike to get to work and back. Southampton is a nice city in parts and there are a variety of clubs and shops, with the two universities in the city helping to provide a young person's vibe.
We didn't go out too much as at the weekends a lot of us would go home to where we lived originally, or were too tired to go out! When we did go out it was good fun though.
Not really, the only thing I was aware of was a company football team.
